Will you be there Lord?

The Psalm

  1. Will you be there in the morning, Lord?
    When birdsong cracks the dawn,
and life’s burdens pile upon the mind
    Will you let me sleep?
  2. Will you be there in my work, Lord?
When the car breaks down on the way
to an early meeting with the grand Pooh-Bah
Will you be there for me?
  3. Will you be there to help me, Lord?
As father and husband, son and boss
Guiding and loving, listening and leading
Will you be there by my side?
  4. Will you be there at home, Lord?
With the fire ablaze as we laugh at the day,
When all are abed and the lights are out
Will you be there in the night?
  5. Will you be there in my prayers, Lord
When parts of the world are mired in war
And a prayer seems such a small thing
Will you be there to hear?

The Song

Will you be there in the morning,
When birdsong cracks the dawn,
Life’s burdens pile high upon the mind
Will you let me sleep?

[chorus] Will you be there Lord?
There for me
Where a prayer is such a small thing
In a world of bigger need

Will you be there in my work, Lord?
When the car breaks down on the way
to an early meeting with the grand Pooh-Bah
Will you be there for me?

[chorus]

Will you be there in my prayers, Lord
When the world is mired in war
And my mind is racing through the night
Will you give me peace?

[chorus]
